Leviton today announced the acquisition of BitWise Controls, LLC, a leader in design and manufacture of control and monitoring solutions for residential and commercial facilities. Leviton Security and Automation Reduces Mobile Application Prices

Leviton Security and Automation (formerly HAI by Leviton) announced the reduction in pricing of their one-time purchase mobile applications (apps) – the Snap-Link Mobile remote access product family – by more than 50 percent. A single Snap-Link Mobile app from Leviton Security and Automation can control multiple properties without site license fees or associated monthly fees,ideal for homeowners with vacation homes or for franchisee owners with multiple store locations. In addition, multiple tablets/smartphones can utilize the same app without device license fees, so a homeowner’s smart phone, tablet and other devices can be integrated with a single purchase. HAI by Leviton Announces KNX Gateway

HAI by Leviton announced today the launch of its KNX Gateway, an interface allowing HAI by Leviton’s Omni and Lumina Ethernet-based controllers to communicate with and control KNX devices through KNX’s standardized network communications BUS protocol. Lighting devices, temperature and energy management, motors for window coverings, shades, shutters and more are among the many KNX devices that can be controlled in homes and businesses from an HAI by Leviton interface or automated via controller programming. The KNX Gateway maps specific data points of each KNX device to a unit or thermostat number on the HAI by Leviton controller. The interface between the KNX Gateway and the HAI by Leviton controller utilizes a RS-485 serial connection. Compatible controllers include the OmniPro II, Omni IIe, Omni LTe, Lumina Pro and Lumina. The KNX Gateway is powered either via a PoE Ethernet connection or 12-24V AC/DC. “The KNX Gateway contributes to the bountiful lighting control options within our automation solutions,” said Jay McLellan, president of HAI by Leviton. “KNX is a truly an open platform that guarantees cross-vendor interoperability, and the KNX Gateway product from HAI by Leviton allows for seamless integration with our systems.”

HAI by Leviton Releases the Hi-Fi 2 Four Zone, Four Source (4x4) Distributed Audio System

HAI by Leviton announced that the new version is a more compact and inexpensive extension of the company’s revolutionary Hi-Fi 2 system, ideal for controlling, sharing and listening to audio systems in buildings with multiple units, such as townhomes,luxury hotel suites, condominiums and small office buildings. The system can be controlled via the included remote control or directly by the free Android or iPhone application.nt>

The new Hi-Fi 2 4x4 provides an affordable distributed audio option with 20 watts per channel that fits directly into a Leviton Structured Media Center wiring enclosure at half-width. As with the entire Hi-Fi 2 line, the new 4x4 model allows users to listen to and share music sources with any room that has speakers connected to the device. Both local and remote source inputs are standard features, with optional wireless Bluetooth connectivity. The Remote Input Module (RIM) features a routed IR emitter jack for remotely controlling existing source equipment from any room that has a volume source control.

“HAI by Leviton’s Hi-Fi 2 is already the most compact yet powerful system on the market, so the addition of a four zone, four source version ensures that this product can be even more affordable for any size installation,” said Jay McLellan, president of HAI by Leviton. “This development is yet another example of HAI by Leviton providing contractors and installers with solutions that are best suited for their specific needs.”

The Hi-Fi 2 4x4 unit uses the same volume source control, RIM and optional Bluetooth RIM as the larger Hi-Fi 2 8x8. The new version comes complete with the Hi-Fi 2 4x4 amplifier, four volume source controls, two remote input modules, a remote control and a power supply, all packaged in an environmentally friendly carton made of 100 percent recycled materials. HAI by Leviton Releases Omni LTe Home Control System, Inc.

The Omni LTe system controls homes and businesses by schedule, motion detection, door openings, sunrise, sunset, alarm activation/deactivation and more. The system features an Ethernet port and may be controlled remotely from a PC, laptop, tablet, Smart phone or e-Reader, as well as onside from in-wall or table-top touch screens. Mobile apps are available for Android and iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch) devices.

“The HAI by Leviton Omni LTe provides users with a full spectrum of advanced automation for efficient and convenient home control,” explained Jay McLellan, President of HAI by Leviton. “The Omni LTe acts as the brain of automated buildings by coordinating all of the systems within a space to communicate with each other to enhance security, save money and add peace of mind.” 

Omni LTe controllers are CP-01 compliant and UL Listed residential security and fire systems, detecting intrusion, smoke and fire, carbon monoxide, water and other hazards with wired or wireless sensors. The Omni LTe can control up to 32 individual lighting loads, accommodate up to four access control readers and coordinate up to four thermostats. The system supports the following protocols and products: X-10, UPB, Omni-Bus, ZigBee, Vizia RF Z-Wave, Clipsal C-Bus, Dynalite, Coolmaster, KNX, HAI Hi-Fi and HAI Hi-Fi 2.

The HAI by Leviton Omni LTe is now available across all sales channels. Part numbers include 20A00-70, Omni LTe Controller in enclosure; 20A00-72, Omni LTe Controller for Structured Wiring Enclosures; and the 20A00-73, Omni LTe Board Only. The Omni LTe is available in 13 languages including English, Arabic (AR), Catalan (CAT), Simplified Chinese (CHS), Traditional Chinese (CHT), French (FR), German (GER), Hebrew (HE), Italian (IT), Portuguese (POR), Russian (RU), Latin American Spanish (SPA), and European Spanish (SPE).

HAI Snap-Link Mobile for iPhone and iPad Now Feature Customizable Remote Control for Audio/Video Equipment

HAI (Home Automation, Inc.), leading manufacturer of integrated automation and security products since 1985, announced that the iTunes store now features version 1.07 of Snap-Link Mobile that includes the ability to remotely control audio/video equipment when used in conjunction with an HAI Home Theater Extender (HTX2).

The HTX2 (HAI part number 86A00-2) allows for audio/video control using iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch (iOS devices) integrated with HAI's Snap-Link Mobile application and an HAI home control system. Additionally, HAI's free HTX2 Mobile Designer software allows for the creation and/or customization of GUI (Graphical User Interface) "remote control" pages that are used for controlling A/V equipment using an iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.

Interface designs for iOS devices can be modified using HAI's HTX2 Mobile Designer software. HAI provides generic templates that can be customized for TV's, Blu-Ray/DVD players, A/V receivers, satellite/cable boxes, tuners, projectors, CD changers, and more. Advanced users can modify the provided templates, design their own templates, or purchase templates from third-parties. Users can even create macro buttons like "Play Movie" to activate a chain of commands, so that all of the applicable audio/video devices are set accordingly with the touch of one button. Audio/video devices can also be separated by room using PC Access so that when the homeowner selects the Living Room, they only gain access to the AV devices within that room.

Awesome HAI Apple Docks now available at Parallel Systems

The HAI Dock allows users to access music on an iPod through IP-enabled devices over a wired or wireless network. When connected to a Hi-Fi 2 by HAI distributed audio system, the connected iPod or iPhone becomes a source that can be played in any audio zone connected to the Hi-Fi 2.

The attached iPod/iPhone is controlled from IP-enabled devices including HAI OmniTouch IP-enabled Touchscreens and the Hi-Fi 2 by HAI. Metadata (e.g. playlist, genre, artist, album, and track) is sent to IP-enabled devices on the network and displays on Touchscreens and Hi-Fi 2 Volume Source Controls. Send the iPod control commands including play, pause, stop, next/previous track, rewind, fast forward, next/previous chapter. IP-enabled devices navigate and browse the iPod/iPhone music library by playlists, artists, albums, songs, podcasts, genres, composers, and audio books.

HAI (Home Automation,Inc.), a leading manufacturer of integrated automation and security products since 1985, has announced it is now shipping a new software product called WL3 for Windows Home Server.  WL3 is an Add-in for a Windows Home Server that allows you to monitor and control your HAI Home Control System from any device with a web browser, such as a computer, PDA, Smartphone, BlackBerry™ , iPhone 2.0™, iPod Touch™, etc. 

WL3 allows you to change your home’s temperatures, adjust the lights or security settings, or view any supported camera securely and easily.  WL3 automatically configures supported UPnP IP cameras on your home network and allows you to manually configure other IP cameras on your network or cameras that reside anywhere on the Internet.  It also allows you to view cameras in your home or from public IP cameras around town, such as traffic and weather cameras./p>

Regardless of the brand of camera, the video is displayed in the WL3 format so that all camera feeds have a consistent look and feel.  Easily select any camera, choose the frame rate and screen size, manually start and stop video recording, take a snapshot of the video image, and play, pause, or stop the video stream.

WL3 can also record video based on an event and/or send e-mails or text messages.  Recorded videos and snapshots are categorized and can be viewed anytime you log in, locally or over the Internet.  WL3 continually monitors your home and can inform you of events such as the alarm system being disarmed, or a car entering the garage.  Furthermore, WL3 is customizable and allows you to change the user interface by applying different graphic and color schemes, add RSS feeds, weather, sports, news, personal blogs and more.
